How to puncture a creative soul

something has been bothering me .
its so troubling .The murdering of the creative soul.And it is getting increasingly common from all sides.The industry norms have changed.Agreed.The business is more demanding.agreed.Creative guys cant be protected anymore and be treated with delicacy.Agreed. They can no longer be mad and irresponsible.Agreed.They are business partners .they have to meet clients even if he wants to just sneeze.the creative guy has to hold the biggest corner of the hanky .he has to be there .agreed.....why .Ho hum...the business has changes.

Yes we agree to all this .then why is it that after going thru it all is a creative guys output subjected to the worst possible ,putrid , spittable absolutely absolutely unintelligent bunch of idiosyncrasies.comments.reactions. foolishness to hold on to agendas and motives.It kills not you but your spirit.your belief.It kills your motivation to know you can do better.And it increasingly makes you give unwillingly to what is wanted .then what is needed.Sad Sad Sad.For whom not for the creative for the people who make him do it. Then what sets in is boredom .frustration .And a feeling of what am i doing here.Who stands to lose.The client.Because all good creative guys always have something else that keeps them motivated and their spirits stimulated.And if they dont they should find that something.Cause today what we are expected to do is be mere warm bodies resonating following and going on. Thats so easy. what they want we can do with our left hand.what they need we spend sleepless nights getting it right but who the f cares.

I do...i really do.It bothers me to c my best people losing their faith in the business. It bothers me that i go thru this sinking feeling more often then i like.Yes it bothers me.

Today i wrote this because for the last three daysthis was a burden on my head.The perpetual
eyeless noseless d head popping up and smiling that toothless grin asking what are you doing here.

Right now i am shooting.A complicated shoot...made more complicated by jet airways making a mess of my bookings and philosophical professional questions peeping out from behind the video assist.

I bless the clients who respect creative.who understand their value.And they get the best out of us they do.Finally i am a firm believer in....a client gets what he deserves .The good one get the best because they deserve it .the bad ones....well they deserve it.
